Nick R. Lawson’s practice focuses on general civil litigation, including commercial disputes, labor and employment matters, and life insurance cases. In addition to the courtroom, Nick also helps clients resolve Public Utility Commission regulatory disputes and appeals.
During law school Nick competed on the Moot Court, Negotiation, and Mediation teams, and has been actively involved in the Negotiation and Mediation teams as a volunteer coach. After law school, Nick gained federal litigation experience serving a temporary term as Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Illinois, and was responsible for prosecuting organized crime and drug related matters as well as appeals before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 2014-15, Nick clerked for the Honorable Nancy J. Rosenstengel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Nick enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time with their young daughter, and cheering on the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
