Nick R. Lawson’s practice focuses on general civil litigation. He has experience handling commercial litigation, labor and employment disputes, and life insurance matters.
During law school Nick competed on the Moot Court, Negotiation, and Mediation teams, and is actively involved in the Negotiation and Mediation teams as coach. After law school, Nick gained federal litigation experience serving a temporary term as Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Illinois. As a term SAUSA, Nick was responsible for prosecuting organized crime and drug related matters and filed appellate briefs before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 2014-15, Nick clerked for the Honorable Nancy J. Rosenstengel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. As elbow clerk, Nick worked on a wide variety of matters ranging from criminal and civil rights to a complex ERISA class action suit.
Nick enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time with their young daughter, and cheering on the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
