Dan Lazaro concentrates his practice on complex insurance coverage and civil litigation. Dan prides himself on understanding his clients’ strategic objectives at case inception in order to provide effective guidance through case resolution.
Before joining EMH, Dan gained significant experience defending residential and commercial property lawsuits at a Miami-based litigation firm. He also advised clients on complex insurance coverage matters in areas such as: professional liability, directors and officers, commercial general liability, employment practices liability, and automobile. Other representative matters include: representing government officials, police officers, and prison personnel in the defense of constitutional rights claims, a Fortune 200 energy company in multiple wrongful death actions, a foreign corporation seeking to collect a judgment, and an individual in a code enforcement hearing. Dan also interned with United States District Judge Paul C. Huck in Miami and the Florida Department of Health Regional General Counsel’s Office in Gainesville. During law school, he served as Vice President of the Florida Moot Court Team, when he received numerous awards for brief writing, oral advocacy, and contributions to the team.
Within the legal community, Dan serves as a member of the University of Florida Law Alumni Council, participates in various bar association activities, and mentors law students. He is also a proud Miami Hurricanes supporter.
