Andrew Kasner joined EMH’s Houston office as an associate after graduating from Emory University School of Law in May 2011. Andrew’s practice primarily focuses on representing large corporations in commercial disputes involving breach of contract claims, business torts, and insurance fraud. Andrew has also coordinated collection efforts against judgment debtors. Among other things, Andrew’s experience includes coordinating discovery efforts in complex litigation and drafting pre-trial and dispositive motions. Andrew has also prepared for or attended a number of trials in federal and state courts throughout the country–including California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Texas.
In addition to handling litigation at the trial court level, Andrew has successfully briefed a variety of issues before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Tenth Circuits–obtaining orders affirming summary judgments awarded to EMH’s clients.
Andrew has a long history of community service, which includes volunteering for the pro bono group KIND (Kids In Need of Defense). Prior to joining EMH, he clerked for both the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas and the Internal Revenue Service in Atlanta, Georgia.
Andrew is a music enthusiast, avid sports fan, and proud alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin. When not attending Texas Longhorn sporting events, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He’s also in the process of obtaining his private pilot’s license.
